Deposit consultation results
The formal consultation on the Deposit Kent and Medway Structure
Plan ran from Monday 15 September to Monday 10 November 2003. It
attracted over 3,500 individual comments from 417 respondents. Lists

Kent County Council and Medway Council have now analysed all the
comments received. Reports on the results of the deposit consultation,
key issues raised, suggested proposed changes and suggested issues
for discussion at the Examination in Public were reported to members
of both councils.

At this stage, this document is for information purposes only and
is not subject to consultation. The text accompanying the policies
in the plan (the ‘Explanatory Memorandum’) is not part
of the Statutory Plan and any suggested changes are not the subject
of consultation at this stage. Proposed pre-EIP changes to the plan
policies only will be published for formal consultation; see ‘Proposed
Pre-Examination in Public (EIP) Changes’, below for further
details. Following the Examination in Public and subsequent publication
and consideration of the Independent Panel’s Report, the Councils
will propose formal Modifications to the Plan. These will be the
subject of a formal consultation. They are likely to be made up
of the proposed pre-EIP changes (subject to the report and recommendations
of the Panel), factual updates, and any other changes required as
a result of the Panel’s report and recommendations.
Proposed Pre-EIP Changes
Following consideration of all the comments received, the Councils
have drawn up a list of proposed changes prior to the Examination
in Public. The proposed changes relate to the plan policies only
and are being consulted on from Monday 7 June to Monday 19 July
2004. THE CONSULTATION PERIOD HAS NOW BEEN CLOSED.
