Kent and Medway Councils considered carefully the report and recommendations of the Examination in Public (EIP) Panel following its publication in February 2005 and subsequently published the documents below for consultation between Thursday 15 September and Thursday 27 October 2005:
Document 1: Councils’ Response to the Recommendations of the EIP Panel
This document sets out the Councils’ joint response to the EIP Panel’s recommendations. It is in two parts:
- Schedule 1: Summary of the Panel’s Recommendations and the Councils’ Response (including those recommendations which the Councils do not intend to accept).
- Schedule 2: The Panel’s Recommendations in Full and the Councils’ Actions and Reasons.
Document 2: Proposed Modifications to the Kent and Medway Structure Plan The Proposed Modifications consist of the following:
- those recommendations of the EIP Panel which the Councils propose to accept;
- the Councils’ responses to objections and representations on the Deposit Plan originally made in late 2003;
- formal incorporation into the Structure Plan of the Pre-Examination Proposed Changes to the Plan (originally published in June 2004) which the Councils propose to take forward in light of the Panel Report and as a result of representations received from the consultation in mid 2004;
- formal incorporation into the Structure Plan of the Further Amendments proposed by the Councils at the Examination in Public, which the Councils propose to take forward, taking account of the Panel Report;
- factual updating, as appropriate.
The above documents are available for download below, together with a full list of policies as they would appear with the proposed modifications (Document 3), a response form for making comments, a copy of the formal public notice, and some introductory guidance notes.
As a result of reviewing the responses received to the consultation on the Proposed Modifications, Kent and Medway Councils have decided that Further Modifications are necessary before the Kent and Medway Structure Plan can be adopted. Further details of these, together with a schedule of the Councils’ responses to the comments received are on the Further Proposed Modifications page.
